About Chris
I started in the motorcycle trade in the early sixties with a local dealer who was agent for AJS and Matchless, among other makes. I stayed there for several years eventually becoming workshop foreman.
During this period I purchased my first Matchless, a G11. Thus starting a love affair which continues to this day.
I then changed tack and joined another dealer, this time selling motorcycles rather than working on them. It didn't take long for me to realise that I much prefered the workshop to the saleroom and so I left and took a position as engineer with a firm who ran public hire go-karts.
After a number of years I left and started up in the same line on my own account. I ran my own go-kart business for eleven years before selling up, having bought a small garage workshop where I did general repairs on both cars and motorcycles.
About ten or eleven years ago I decided to stop repairing cars and concentrate on classic bikes, specialising in AJS and Matchless machines which have been a continuing love and hobby of mine over the years.
My workshop is now very well equiped to carry out most aspects of restoration work and I offer my services to like minded enthusiasts who are always welcome to visit and natter about old bikes.
